June 27 - July 1st, 2017 San Diego Tai Chi Healthways Summer Camp

Jesse Tsao Tai Chi Healthways Summer Camp June 27-July 1st, 2017

June 27 to July 1st, 2017 San Diego Tai Chi and Qigong Summer Camp

What do we cover in this week-long training camp?

So many tai chi and Qigong practitioners are lost in the puzzle of how to progress their studies.  We are here to provide you answers from the beginner to advanced level.  Tai chi and Qigong require time and effort to gain insightful understanding of each posture and each move.

  • Each day will be a combination of the following: Qigong practice for inner energy feeling, tai chi theory, practical hands-on practice, and a question-and-answer session.
  • Beginners and experienced practitioners will be separated into small groups after Qigong practice and theory teaching.
  • Teachings will apply to major tai chi styles: Chen, Yang, Wu, and Sun.
  • Push Hands (tui-shou) is mixed in every day’s schedule.  To reduce mistakes in our push hands technique, we will discuss Chen Xin’s classical document, “Push Hand 36 Sicknesses” (1919)
  • As your forms mature, it comes with the comprehension of neigong jin, or the inner energy practice phase, a significantly leap from those ordinary exercise.
  • As you gain neigong jin, it comes to the fa-jin phase, the power striking practice, so the advanced group can expect to train in Cannon Fist.

 Comments from Participants:

"I want to thank you for a terrific Summer Camp.  It was the best ever!  Well organized and full of interesting things to learn". --Jane K.
"I enjoyed every moment of the camp! Be it your detailed teachings explaining hard-to-understand but crucial concepts, thanks to your research and understanding of the classics.  All students from beginner to advanced got a better understanding of taiji during the camp. Some beginners said they felt already they had a better balance! Also it showed in the more advanced players that their kwa was lower and their push hands more skilled.  It was so helpful to use the one/ two to show another way to deal with settling, yin and yang, contraction and expansion". -- Isabelle M.
"Thank you again for planning and directing Tai Chi Camp! I really enjoyed learning and spending time with those students who are dedicated to you and their practice. "--Lawrence O.
"I am focusing on what you taught at the workshop while it is still relatively fresh in my mind.
It was amazing how much energy I felt in the palms of my hands and how I could feel a sense of "peng" throughout my whole body!!
It is a lot of things to keep track of and focus on and I find that after a bit I tend to want to just "flow" through the movements
as that feels good and is relaxing..."- Michael S.

Comments from the Participants:
"It was truly a wonderful weekend on so many levels and such incredible learning.
I totally agree with you about our wonderful two day much
knowledge and giving on Jesse's behalf...and the 13 Shi San Shi drill for me
was remarkable, (and hard)but agree my head too spinning --  I think when it
settles it will reveal deep insights into grateful to Jesse
and his "being" on this earth..we are all very blessed to know him....."  Barb P.
"I am just writing to thank you for so generously sharing your time and knowledge with us in Great Barrington. It never ceases to amaze me that there is always so much to learn even in the most basic of movements.
And every once in a while there is a small burst of knowledge ... When you were helping me with my Yang 108 and the kicks, I got a different insight into the balance - it is not only the positioning of the arms, that support the balance, but it is also the alignment of the shoulder to hip.  More basics!  :-)....." Event List

Tai Chi Healthways Association has been developing Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for group exercise leader/instructor and personal trainer through its national and worldwide workshop/seminar program, publication and research. Led by Master Jesse Tsao, Ph.D.,the CEUs created by Tai Chi Healthways are recognized by learners, group exercise instructors, and employers. A CEU is defined as ten contact hour of participation in a recognized continuing education program, with qualified instruction and sponsorship. CEU records are widely used to provide evidence of completion of continuing education requirements mandated by certification bodies, professional societies, or governmental licensing boards. The records also provide employers with information on training pertinent to particular occupations. Not all CEUs are created equal. The term CEU is in the public domain. Any organization may award a traditional CEU without requiring accreditation. That’s why it is important to look for Tai Chi Healthways CEUs so that an individual can assure employers, credentialing associations, licensing bodies and others that he has completed a quality program.
*Additional document fee for the CEU certificate is $20.
